F.U. Pay Me: Stormy Daniels threatened to cancel secrecy deal weeks before the 2016 election, when her money was late

Brinksmanship: Stormy Daniels’ attorney chose the day that protesters had gathered in front of Trump Tower to express outrage over the presidential nominee’s “grab ’em by the pussy” remark to announce she was calling off the secrecy deal

October 2016: Election Day was only weeks away, and Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen had blown the deadline for paying mercenary porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about her alleged affair with the future president.

According to The Washington Post, a series of emails between the Daniels’ camp and Cohen, who had that very morning created a limited liability corporation in order to pay her off, indicates that the latter was late in making a payment. As a result, Daniels’ team announced that the nondisclosure agreement (NDA) was thereby void, and threatened that she would go public.

In an October 17 email, Daniels’ attorney, Keith Davidson, threatened to cancel the nondisclosure agreement by the end of the day.

The limited liability company was in place, public records show, but the money had not arrived. A second email to Cohen, a short time after the first, said Daniels was calling the deal off.

“Please be advised that my client deems her settlement agreement canceled and void,” Davidson wrote in the email, which The Washington Post obtained.

Ten days later, the $130,000 payment arrived, as confirmed by another email. And the plan worked: Daniels’ story about her sexual encounter(s) with Trump in 2006 remained under wraps long past Election Day.
