Truns out condoms don’t prevent and protect against herpes

I guess it’s true, you do learn something every day. According to the latest medical research condoms aren’t going to help you when it comes to herpes.

Condoms are really effective for preventing most STDs. Unfortunately, they can only reduce the risk of herpes, not prevent it. Unlike many other sexually transmitted diseases, herpes spreads by skin-to-skin contact instead of through bodily fluids.

Genital herpes spreads so easily because many people don’t realize they have an infection and typical safe sex practices, like wearing condoms, do not completely prevent the spread of the virus.

However that being said they still say wear a condom – as even some protection is better than none.

Apparently, 1 out of 6 people have some form of herpes. I don’t know if this is true, but it’s what the expects are saying, so who the hell am I to argue?
