Anti-Due Process blogger Dan Arel says always believe those who say they’ve been raped; 10k people then accuse him of rape on Twitter

A rod for his own back: Regressive Left blogger/author Dan Arel sees Constitutional protections of free speech and due process for all accused parties as tools of of white supremacy and “patriarchy”. His latest burst of idiocy led to Arel being outed, under his own definition, as a verified serial rapist and victim shamer.

Dan Arel’s now self-deleted Twitter account

Dan Arel is a self-described “red flag-waving, anti-capitalist Marxist”; American socialist politician Bernie Sanders is too right wing for his tastes.

In the past, Arel has written some interesting things about secularism, but of late he has joined many on the left in going completely off the deep end.  Make no mistake, Dan Arel is a seriously deluded man.

The thing they despise

Arel backs the Marxist-feminist line about patriarchy: an invisible worldwide ages-old conspiracy by men to subjugate women.  As with all authoritarian religions, in feminism one must accept certain things as articles of faith, and with no evidence.

Authoritarian feminism is essentially a plagiarized Marxism: they have taken Marxist theory, crossed out “Bourgeoisie” and written “patriarchy” in its place.  As such, this feminism sees ongoing gender-class warfare, which must be met with more gender-class fighting: women against men. Women = good, men = evil oppressors.

And just as radical Islam claims that Muslims who do not subscribe to its worldview can justifiably be killed because they’re not really Muslims, authoritarian feminists and the regressive left endorse denying rights and freedoms to those whose views they deem heretical.

In articles and on social media, Arel has dutifully (and unthinkingly, if you read his jeremiads) endorsed this worldview.

Accuser = victim, not “alleged victim”, to Dan Arel.

This week, Arel tweeted in favor of the regressive left position against due process for male rape defendants.

To idiots like Arel, we should ignore inconvenient facts, such as the fact that some women have indeed lied about alleged rapes. Or that due process protects everyone, not just evil male oppressors.

No, to Dan Arel, if you claim you’ve been raped, you must be believed.

It was thus inevitable that a hashtag would created to show support for the victims of Dan Arel, after he let it be known that one should always believe those who say that have been raped.

And #DanArelRapedMe was born.

#DanArelRapedMe

As you can see, Arel ran to Twitter Support for help, bringing to mind a scene from Robert Bolt’s “A Man For All Seasons” that MikeSouth.com contributor Sam Langhorne excerpted here previously:

SIR THOMAS MORE  What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?
WILLIAM ROPER.  I’d cut down every law in England to do that!
SIR THOMAS MORE  Oh?  And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you — where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country’s planted thick with laws from coast to coast — man’s laws, not God’s — and if you cut them down — and you’re just the man to do it — d’you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?  Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety’s sake.

Beaten and humiliated, Arel deleted his Twitter account.

Just the man to do it

This is my favorite idiotic Dan Arel quotation:

I am 100% pro free speech. Shutting down hate speech is an act of free speech.

Of course, Dan Arel defines hate speech as any speech he hates. In this he is emblematic of the regressive left, who ignore the axiom that every time one violates or proposes to violate the free speech of someone else, one makes, in potentia, a rod for one’s own back.

If you disagree with Arel, or support the right of speakers with unpopular views to even be heard, he calls you a Nazi. See how that works?

Apparently Dan Arel has never heard of Rosa Luxemburg (1871-1919), the Marxist theorist, philosopher, economist, and revolutionary socialist who wrote that freedom, including freedom of speech, is meaningless if it does not protect those who think differently.

Arel’s rantings are simply cowardly, poorly constructed justifications for silencing and no-platforming competing views. In other words, censorship.

For instance, Arel has criticized comedian and political commentator Dave Rubin for handing “a megaphone to many of Trump’s loudest supporters, giving rise and credibility to their ideas, empowering the white nationalist movement and bringing them to new audiences.”

As attorney and adult industry legal advocate Marc Randazza has written,

“[T]he First Amendment requires neither tact nor politeness. It requires that we permit all views to set up stalls in the marketplace of ideas, and we let that marketplace decide which ideas prevail. That is why it is called ‘the marketplace of ideas,’ not ‘the marketplace of gangs beating each other up.'”

Which, of course is another reason to find joy, hilarity and justice in censorious nitwit Dan Arel being hoist by his own petard and deleting his own Twitter account after the devil he’d summoned came ’round.
