Evil Angel and Doc Johnson Sever Ties With James Deen, Will Deen Flunk Out Of Porn?

Things are really piling up on James Deen, whioch to me says that there have been problems all along, the fact that Kink and Evil Angel are so quick to sever ties makes me think that this is not the first time that they have encountered this problem with him.  Today has just been one performer and or company after another denouncing him.

Evil Angel issued astatementMonday:

“In light of the recent accusations against James Deen, Evil Angel today has decided not to sell any newly created scenes featuring Deen. While our company presents what is consensual and exploratory about aggressive and rough sex, these accusations are of a nature so contrary to our company values that we feel it necessary to suspend the sales until more information is available.”

Doc Johnson also indicated it would cease production on the toys.

“We are taking the allegations against James Deen very seriously and in light of the recent accusations we have decided to no longer proceed with the products that we make on his behalf.”

The question now seems to be will Deen actually do the next to impossible and actually flunk out of porn.

  1. Very interesting that nobody wants to say “innocent until proven…..” or give him any chance to defend himself. Very clearly, with companies so quick to terminate him, it shows they have been well aware of what is going on and want to get out of there now that it has become public.

He won’t flunk out of porn if he wants to continue. He could set up his own company and I bet you he could sell quite a few scenes through his own website. There will be a lot of men that will get off on this story and will think he is some sort of porno deity. Maybe he can’t get work with the big companies for a while, he can still make a buck if he so chooses.

  2. Fuck Yes! I’m glad to see this scumbag going down! Nothing but a piece of shit who’s getting what he deserves.

  3. 100% AGREE with you on your comment. It just goes to show that whether it’s mainstream or porn, people are willing to turn a blind eye when there’s a star involved. Unbelievable. The industry as a whole should be ashamed of themselves.

  4. @ivy

Now that the women have learned that coming forward is going to be met with some positive responses, there will be less fear next time around. Any porno guys thinking of crossing those lines better think again. They thrive on the belief the girl is worthless and will never be believed and thus will never come forward. This may change that in a big way.

This situation could play out in a way that will be beneficial for the female performers long term by giving them confidence that they can come forward and not have their careers and lives thrown in a dumpster. At least, that is my hope; naive as it may be 🙂

People have been so quick to go after Deen. I suspect everyone has been building up this tension and anger for a long time, and just waiting for someone to come public so they can all release it. Nobody wants to be the first one.

  5. @joe If that’s what happens, I’m all for it. I also believe this is good in the long run, like it’s good for the women who were raped by Cosby, is good in the long run. My worry is that once Deen has served his use as the scape goat (for everyone who helped cover it up) that things will go back to business as usual.
People like Deen forget, that it can take a lifetime of hardwork to climb the mountain of success. But all it takes is one push to fall. No matter how powerful or invincible someone seems, that person is only in power because others let it be so.

  6. James Deen’s movies wen’t selling that well, this gave John a out. It’s kind of fucked up that these adult companies are not waiting for all the facts to come out.

  7. @Billy Oh really? Where’s the ORLY owl when you need one?

Deen’s twitter feed, typed by his own hands
It’s not rape if you yell surprise… then it’s a party RT @danadearmond @JamesDeen it’s ok. You’ll be ass raping them in 6 years.

I’m going to get off this plane and go rape a stuffed animal until it crys!!!!

Things I’ve learned… It’s not rape if you yell surprise and if you put enough bbq sauce on anything it will taste ok

Do they make candy hearts that say “rape me”??? #pornoromance

  8. LOL, so many jealous internet nerds, who wish they had the stamina and ability to fuck girls on camera properly like James Deen does.

Guys i’m sorry, but if these girls dated Deen and he raped them, why didn’t all this come out while they were dating? I’m sorry, but in my experience women tell a lot of lies when they get desperate, and I think Stoya is straight up desperate right now.

Why wait until now to unveil this bullshit? Is it that time of the month again Stoya? Sorry no one wants to see your artsy bullcrap half ass porn films, if you even shoot anymore. Why don’t you go back to Digital Playground and beg them for another contract again.

I’m pissed right now. Pissed that this industry would instantly sacrifice the male talent. But hey male talent is super interchangable right. Sorry but I like the way James Deen takes charge of scenes ESPECIALLY his GANGBANG AND DP Scenes. If you look at all the Best DP awards by AVN it’s all James Deen/Erik Everhard scenes.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Rape is never okay. On a set everything should be explained beforehand to both parties. That probably doesn’t happen. It sucks, but I have a feeling this is going to be the end of the EXTREME genre in porn as we know it. And that’s sad to me because I really enjoy that part of porn.

Don’t ask me why, but there are plenty of girls in the porn industry that joke about rape all the time like it’s no big deal. Why aren’t you writing stories on them? Asking them to get banned from the industry?

The witch hunt against James Deen went from 0 to a 100 real quick, and right now I’m pissed off that this Porn Legend isn’t getting a chance to defend himself.

  9. @mdxxx

why would we be jealous of his “stamina”. I can pound that long and hard too if I take Viagra or inject Caverject. Being a porn guy is not a glamour lifestyle. Most of them are broke and couch surfing with buddies, fucking women that don’t like them most of the time, and doing crazy sexual things in their private life because they have become so desensitized to fucking beautiful women. At least for me, I am not jealous of that 🙂

Interesting you used the word “properly” in describing how he has sex. I suppose that sums up your view of women and what you perceive they want. Plenty of rough sex girls out there, they are however a minority group, and there is nothing proper about doing things to someone they don’t want to do. A lot of the women he “fucks properly” on screen would likely not be doing that if there was not a paycheck involved.

On a side not; I always laugh that when people criticize someone, others will often use the “your jealous” response. It is deflection more than anything else. Sure, many jealous people will attack someone else to feel better. However, most of us are just regular people who are not jealous of the person when we criticize them. Criticism is a healthy thing.

  10. @mdxxx again

PS – if you are asking why they did not come out publicly about his actions sooner or “while they were dating” or when it actually happened, then you need to do a lot of reading and educating yourself as to why that is. That is the standard male response and just shows a complete lack of understanding of what is going on.

  11. The only way people flunk out of porn is to be a serious risk to important bottom lines. Deen being tossed under the bus is a sows ear being dressed up as a silk purse labeled performer respect…its bullshit and their press releases tell you so too.

SF Weekly ran an article with a pic of the armory captioned to say one of the assaults is alleged to have taken place there and noted that they sought a comment from kink. They responded ….

“For the Kink.com community, as well as the larger BDSM community, consent and respect are sacrosanct. Effective immediately, Kink.com will cease all ties with James Deen, both as a performer and a producer.

Our performers deserve not only safe sets, but the ability to work without fear of assault. Rape or sexual assault, with or without a safe-word, off-set or on, should never be accepted as a hazard of adult production. While many of the allegations against Deen are new, the pattern is alarming. Over the coming weeks and months, we will review our Model Bill of Rights to strengthen rights of performers off-set, and work with the larger industry to help performers to have been assaulted to more easily come forward.”

This isn’t about supporting Stoya or encouraging performers to come forward its about putting the pattern of disrespecting performers onto Deen and patting themselves on the back as white knights who fixed the problem. Damn shame someone muffled their ears and bound them with horse blinders that hid the alarming pattern tarnishishng their armor.

If this were about sacrosanct respect there would be no need for performers to come forward after the fact. If respect for boundaries and limits were the guiding principle they wouldn’t have a pattern of being shamed in the media with after the fact knee-jerk empty promises to modify their model performer bill of rights. How many times have they fixed the menu and kept on using the same old recipe and passed it off as the cook used the old recipe? It’s their house they are in charge of making sure the cook has the right ingredients and knows the updated menu or nothing changes.

Yanking sales of existing scenes makes it harder to review them with a critical eye looking for stuff that might bite a stakeholder in the ass as a plausible pattern of claims.

  12. Kink generally has a reputation of getting good girls to do things they otherwise wouldn’t do. One only has to look at the case of Alina Li, who went from young hotty to hardcore porn girl to abused in public for Kink to “retired” right after. Kink is hardcore, that is for sure, and not every girl is willing or able to deal with it. They may do it, but they may or may not like it.

Rough sex is one of those things that not everyone enjoys. There is certainly a market for it, there are plenty of strokers out there who love the idea of “telling that bitch what to do”, a mentality of not just domination but degradation. In some ways, it’s a variation on the Max Hardcore “deep throat until you puke” mentality. Part of the problem here is that the scenes that are considered the best are the ones where the girl isn’t entirely into it or is somewhat unwillingly pushing their limits. James Deen appears to have enjoyed doing just that.

So in the end, it’s the same questions that always haunt the porn industry: What is “too much”? The courts pretty much decided that Max Hardcore was too much. The courts didn’t like Rob Black much either. Having the courts decide is tough, in part because it encourages people to push the limits hoping nobody ever blows the whistle. For James Deen, it appears that the girls are blowing the whistle loud and clear. Thankfully, the industry is smart enough to move away from him as fast as possible.

  13. @rawalex
If the history of complaints about disrespecting performer boundaries were limited to ‘one and done’ performers it would be easier to lay this at Deens doorstep. If max and rob didn’t exist it would be easy to lay this entirely on kinks doorstep. Im not sure jumping on the rapid transit running over Deen is the smart move

As for the ever present enigmatic question of what is too much throwing Deen under the bus is probably more effective than the DOJ or a criminal prosecution would be but it amounts to quashing the drama dujour without ever addressing the question. Its too much when a participant objects. It really is that simple.

  14. Business relationships are not courts of law and no one found Deen guilty in their press releases. Smarten up.

  15. Any man that watches pornography can easily be labeled a misogynist. And while some people enjoy watching that Porn parody crap, I actually enjoy the movies that push boundaries.

This is America, whatever happened to innocent before proven guilty? All the articles say James Deen rapist…blah blah blah. How about the fact that all the women going after him are known Feminists who somehow think it’s empowering to do porn?

Newsflash if you are a true feminist, you don’t do porn. You wear baggy clothes, and you walk around telling guys not to stare at girls that wear provocative clothing.

The porn industry is and forever will be male fantasies acted out by females getting paid to act them out. They are not victims when they are getting paid thousands of dollars to have sex on camera, just like I do not feel bad when an athlete breaks his leg or gets a concussion. These are part of the job.

All these stories btw seem extremely bullshit or exaggerated. I mean why would James Deen not follow a safeword on set and then everyone just sit around and not do anything. When Tori Lux got assaulted like she claimed, she could have easily filed a police report. None of that I’m a hooker so they won’t believe me crap. This is 2015.

I will conclude by saying, as males we need to stand up for our own before we stand up for women, who are for the most part evil beings that are about as manipulative as the sky is dark at night. Females make this industry, but males are the MAIN consumer, and guess what even if Deen disappears porn is going nowhere?

I would love to hear what all these female porn starlets think about this issue. Many of them just quit though and then whine about how abused they were, when meanwhile many of them just blow their money on gucci this and fendi that and then end up regretting their decisions and take it out on others.

This is exactly what is going on with James Deen right now.

  16. Sorry mdxxx but that is wrong. Wikipedia defines a Misogynist as someone that hates women or girls. Sure there are porn viewers that hate women but the vast majority of porn viewers do not.

  17. @mdxx Why wait this long to come forward??? Why don’t you ask the same question to all the women Cosby raped???

  18. @mdxxx I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you on all your points, but of course this being a free country, you are entitled to your opinions and beliefs.
I just wanted to let you know that you pretty much sound like you don’t know what your talking about, maybe your MRA I’m not gonna judge.
Feminists don’t go around baggy clothes, that….look I don’t even know where to start with that.
But it’s ok, you can keep on truckin with that thought. Just know that you have view about women, feminists and feminists porn stars that do not align with reality.

  19. mdxxx…

why would James Deen not follow a safeword? Why would any guy continue to do things to a woman when she said stop? Guys like that are wired differently; you make some implication that he must be innocent because you can’t comprehend a guy ignoring a safe word?

Why would everyone stand around and not doing anything? This is porn; you know full well what most of the people think of the girls, and you know full well that nobody cares about anyone else other than their next paycheck. If performer A makes noise about a money making guy going too far, that performer’s phone (or agent’s phone) will get awfully quiet.

Your quote “None of that I’m a hooker so they won’t believe me crap. This is 2015”, needs comment.

That isn’t crap. A porn girl or a prostitute are not believed very often ,and are attacked aggressively when trying to come forward due to their life. YOu can say “well it’s 2015”. I think it needs to be 2055 before this gets through everyones head. Women who sell their bodies are still considered by many to be trash and “deserve what they get”. That is the reality.

Look at all the nastiness towards Christy Mack. She had a face beaten into shattered pieces and there was still a huge swath of people who didn’t believe her, said she deserved it, said he was her fault, and so on and so forth.

This is 2015 yes, however, we are still decades from society as a whole treating sex workers like human beings. We are also still having girls of all stripes being attacked when they make a rape allegation against someone they know. Even if they are conservative people with no dirt on them. A lot of the Cosby accusers have gone through shitty times being attacked, threatened, and all sorts of nastiness on social media. Society is still like this so it is very clear, and very obvious, why the vast majority of rape victims never come forward. It often takes that first one to have the courage to do it, and then the others feel empowered to speak up.

  20. Had to look up the word MRA. Male Rights Activist. LOL.

Look you guys are making it seem as if I somehow condone rape. I don’t condone it whatsoever. There are plenty of snuff films out there that imitate such scenes, even in Japan there are scenes that simulate rape. My point is, actresses are getting paid for these scenes, how come they don’t bring this up until years later like all these women are doing with Deen? I’m sorry but they could have easily stood up and said something years ago. Stoya DATED the guy AFTER this incident occurred. Are you guys going to try and convince me that Deen kept Stoya in this abusive relationship for months before Feminist Stoya had the courage to stand up and say something? Sorry I don’t buy it. I can read people by looking into their eyes and Deen acts one way on camera, and another way off camera.

Both Stoya and Joanna Angel and all these others are just lovers scorned in my eyes.

So now that the PC Porn Police have taken out James Deen, heck why stop there? Let’s go on Pornfidelity and shut them down, because it looks like they drug and party with some of their actresses. Lets shut down Facial Abuse as well, because hey those girls didn’t consent to any of that right?

When you’re 18 and you sign a contract, that is it. You are bound to that contract if lawyers are involved. Thats how many of the young porn girls get duped into sticking around with some lame brain agent. But I digress.

James Deen is not the problem. It’s the entitled brats that currently run porn that think they can have their cake (fuck hot guys) and eat it too (get paid for it). That’s why all the Euro Trash currently dominating Porn continues to dominate it, while America can really only lay claim to Deen, even Canada have friggin Everhard!

  21. How do you know that Stoya dated Deen after the incident happened?.. I didn’t read that anywhere.

  22. @mdxx To be honest with you, there are a lot of people who think those exact thoughts, like the kind of stuff you posted. I honestly don’t have a problem with that, your being honest.
So without going tit for tat for everything your saying, because I definitely do not want you to feel like you are being attacked, I want you to feel like I’m engaging in a dialogue with you, without judging you ore belittling your statements, cuz that’s just not who I am. Ok?

Typically, people who have thoughts and questions like yours, completely valid, very much from a “common sense” point of view, because they have a narrow range and opinion of women. Essentially your statements are devaluing women, (not attacking you, just being real with you). I’m not asking you to look up feminism 101, I’m just saying that you should know a lot of people who care about the issues you brought up, debate these exact thoughts, counter them, within the regular population and within academia.
As a discipline, gender study evolves with time, and we are past what you call past 3rd wave feminism, second wave being the bra burning and stuff after the 60s.
So as a discipline for gender studies, has evolved, and right now the movement is very much focused on women’s rights (Pay, sex worker= Human being, Political rights, the Right to dissent without being abused verbally or physically, the tolerance and public awareness of LGBT issues, all this stuff is meant to bridge the gap between equality between men and women, to address these issues head on, because men and women are equal, NOT better than one another. Ok, so you are disparaging these women, and basically calling them liars and pieces of shit when they come forward with this kind of stuff. It is that exact kind of thinking that holds back women (and men! because they are vulnerable to abuse too) from telling the truth. It’s these men who hold positions of power, the ability to destroy a woman’s career or reputation, simply because he is a man and other men are likely to believe other men.
Now the push back, and the counter narrative to feminism is to reject that, to be open to other diverse voices. Even people within feminism disagree with each other, that’s not the point.
But the general idea, is when you start attacking a woman because she is a woman or is perceived to be “doing woman things, like bitches do” (not saying you exactly said that) because it is inherently sexist, and therefore should be questioned with an open dialog within the community. Ok I know that was long, but I hope I was able to make you understand where these feminist porn stars are coming from. The point is, we should be able to debate these ideas, pick them apart, and have friendly debates, and be able to counter them, and have respect for each others different opinions.

  23. @mdxxx

Let’s play spot the problem asshole and when they crossed the line in the story.

Newbie shows up to new job anxious and excited anticipating the places this could go just like they learned in Suess books only better cuz this place is gonna pay them to show up and go places.

Newbie has been bragging about landing $15 per hour to flip burgers at a place that lists all the rules on the wall next to the color diagrams showing how to make each sandwich.

Rules say wash hands after using toilet causing newbie to expect toilet breaks are part of the program. Schedule says 11a to 5p so newbie plans accordingly arriving on time and arranging a ride for 5:30 to allow a bit of wiggle room.

Three pm comes and goes with out the four hour 15 minute break. Three thirty tries to run to restroom saying excuse me I’ll be right back but boss says whoa WTF you’re not going anywhere. Four pm visions of a piss puddle are getting lost amid smashing the locked back door with the fire extinguisher or bashing bosses head, and dumping hot sauce in the cavity that formerly held a beating heart.

  24. @mdxxx

you are still going on the “why didn’t they report it when they happened”. You seem to hang onto that like religious dogma; I don’t think evidence matters to you in this situation so the debate can’t really go any further.

Honestly, I appreciate debating with you. I have to say that if you are still going on that line of thinking after all the things that have been said, then you truly lack understanding of the realities of the world we live in, and the complete contempt women get when making legitimate rape allegations, how it can destroy their lives and families, and the reality that they usually have to suck it up and not say anything.

reporting a rape, can be almost as traumatic and destructive as the rape itself. Being a sex worker or porn star only enhances by a significant magnitude. Those are the facts, there is an endless supply of information to support that. If you can not accept that, you are welcome to. I have always felt hanging onto something in spite of overwhelming evidence against it is something religion does and is not healthy for society at large. I don’t know if you are religious however I am using this as a parallel about how hanging onto dogma and ignoring evidence is dangerous.

A lady in the porn industry who is raped is faced with this scenario:

I can suck it up, move on, not tell anyone, and hope that the pain and shame goes away….

    OR

I can come forward, lose most of my career, get attacked on the internet, be shamed, called horrible names, have my family insulted, have my real name plastered on the internet by the person I am accusing, and any other potential bad outcomes. All in the hopes that maybe I get this guy, but most likely it gets tossed out of any court because they will consider me a worthless whore who fucks for money and deserved it and should have known better and this would never have happened if I made better choices so this is my fault (intentional long run on sentence).

Most women chose the former and that is why rapes are not reported.

  25. I’m not alleging that James Deen is or isn’t a rapist, only responding to the thread. With regard to the “why didn’t they come forward earlier” or “they’re feminists who are just out to get him,” two points.

Look at what happens to any woman who alleges she was molested on or off the job by her boss or an executive at a company. They are pilloried and torn to pieces in court. Or, look at what happens to married women who are abused by their husbands – it used to be that a man could not legally rape his wife because they regularly had consensual sex.

Now, imagine the person making that allegation is a sex worker. Heck, you don’t have to imagine it. War Machine is on trial right now for raping and assaulting Christy Mack. His legal defense is that it is impossible to rape Christy Mack since she participated in rough and extreme sex scenes for a living – in essence, he saying you can’t rape someone in their private life if they have been paid to be violated in their professional life. I suppose, that’s a little like someone assaulting War Machine with a bar stool when he’s not looking and then arguing that you can’t be charged with assault for sucker punching a professional puncher.

To the “they’re just feminists,” that argument presumes that Stoya or the others have something to gain by making a false allegation of rape. Tell me how exactly they benefit?

I know two things. Businesses do not drop a popular performer like a hot potato because of a couple of news stories – most of the world has no idea who is Stoya or James Deen – unless they think its bad for business to be involved with that performer. An industry just doesn’t turn on a star like that. Where are the tweets and posts from fellow performers and producers in support of Deen? They’re just not out there.

Number 2, Deen has stated that the allegations against him are false and defamatory. Those are legal terms. Deen is a public figure. For a public figure to win a case, they not only have to demonstrate that they were defamed, they have to show quantifiable economic harm.

Usually, that’s the part that’s hard for an entertainer, which is why they sue in England where its not a requirement. I can’t think of another public figure who fits that bill besides James Deen. He’s just been dumped by major sponsors of his work and products. Since adult performers don’t get residuals, he can show how much he was making per month from those companies before the allegations and after the allegations. He’s got quantifiable economic damages. Heck, if anyone can get a lawyer to take this on a contingency basis, it ought to be Deen – a good lawyer could get lots of press and publicity out of this case.

So, Deen should put his defense – and MDXX’s contention – to the test and sue ’em. Put Stoya and all the female performers on the stand under oath. Put all the producers, directors and business people who have dumped him under oath depositions. Bring in the other women he’s performed with, who have not made allegations but have expressed their support and put them under oath. Prove that you can’t rape the willing and that they’re all a bunch of feminists or disgruntled former lovers out to get him. Don’t just tweet that you’re a victim; prove it in court. Stoya and Joanna Angel may not have a lot of money, but Doc Johnson, Kink and Evil Angel have deep pockets.
