Holly Hendrix calls out her agent! #EnoughisEnough

The other day I came across a tweet on my timeline from Holly Hendrix that caught my attention. I knew when I read what she had tweeted, something was wrong. I just didn’t know what it was at the time.

Your trauma is valid. Even if other people have experienced “worse.” Even if someone else who went through the same experience and doesn’t feel debilitated by it. Even if it “could have been avoided.” Even if it happened a long time ago. Even if no one knows. Your trauma is real and valid and you deserve a space to talk about it.

It isn’t desperate or pathetic or attention-seeking. It’s self-care. It’s inconceivably brave. And regardless of the magnitude of your struggle, you’re allowed to take care of yourself by processing and unloading some of the pain you carry. Your pain matters. Your experience matters. And your healing matters. Nothing and no one can take that away. — Daniell Koepke

Just a year ago Holly Hendrix was named AVN’s Best New Starlet. This is a big deal and typically the start of a bright career, not the end.

But according to her agent (John O’Byrne of East Coast Talent), she’s “shot out” and he hasn’t even bothered to book her since November of last year. He called her “washed up and used up”.

How the heck can less than a year after being named Best New Starlet is someone be washed up?

Holly Hendrix

This is what she tweeted to let he fans know about what was going on.

I haven’t been booked since November 19th. I am done feeling like I’ve died away. It’s time to switch agencies. I am no longer repped by John O’Byrne. I was told that I was washed up and used up and too expensive

As you might have imagined, a lot of people are outraged that someone, especially her own agent would say such horrible things to the young star.

These kind of verbal abuses are a big problem that stars are facing today and it’s not okay.

For a while now many have been talking about how her agent mismanaged the young starlet’s career – pushing her too far, to fast. She started doing anal only 3 or 4 months into the industry.

Do keep in mind that Holly Hendrix revealed earlier this year she was in fact only 17 when she first met her agent.

Being from a small town in Georgia, some suggest she wasn’t quite ready for stardom. A lot of people are saying that

  3. Granted we don’t have John’s side of this but if Holly didn’t exaggerate or lie this sounds like she does need another agent — whether her agent is actually doing a poor job and/or treating her like shit or not. It is possible he just doesn’t know how to represent someone with her look. Unfortunately she has two things that could work against her. The first is her look. Her diamond tats above her tits are what I like to call “$200K tats”, meaning those tats cost her over $200K in work — in this case $100K per tattoo. The other is that since she was using an east coast-centric agent she likely lives on the east coast. Most porn work nowadays is in Las Vegas, Miami or the greater Los Angeles area. That could affect how often she is booked, adding a $1500 -$4000 short notice plane ticket, transportation once in town, accommodations while in town (even if they only pay for a stay in a model house that is $250 a pop), meals while in town, etc. that add to her cost to a producer enough that when combined with the excess and misplaced tattage and her overall appearance probably has cost her $200K in work. John could probably have made attempts to get her work but without his side of this and more detailed information. I really can’t say he is a scumbag in this situation.

As for pushing her too quickly into anal, when a person looks like a low-class, overly tatted hooker (no matter what kind of person Holly Hendrix actually is) gonzo work is usually almost all that is available and most gonzo involves anal. Can you imaging directors like Bud Lee, Roy Karch, Holly Randall, Jacky St. James, Kelly Holland or Paul Thomas having much work for her with her nasty and low-rent looking tattage (admittedly Bud, Roy and Paul are retired but their mindset is still king in feature work)? I think she was in one Jacky St. James movie where her role called for a low-rent look but even Jacky can’t use her in most of her movies because of her tattage and she is less fussy than most feature directors.

  4. I have 0 interest in girls full of tats. Most males looking for porn want great clean looking girls.

  5. It sounds to me like her agent was being honest. There is a misconception that an agent will just stop booking a model because he chooses to. As though the agent controls all bookings and gets to pick and choose who they are given to. Thats not the case. If she is not getting booked that is because no one is calling the agent to book her. She also alluded to her agent advising her that she was too expensive. Well maybe that is the case. I have heard that Holly is a difficult girl. If she is demanding $1500 or something for a boy/girl then perhaps the agent is right. Perhaps she should listen to him when he tells her what he believes fair market value is for her scenes.

We all know this business is fickle. A girl can be very popular for a year and then interest in her can die off. It happens all the time. Models never understand this and they blame everyone else when it happens. Holly will now likely bounce around from agency to agency, and a few years down she will be out of the business or barely shooting. The agent could have sugar coated all of this but it sounds like he was pretty blunt with her.

  6. I have also heard that her rates are higher than average and she plays hardball on them, and because she lives away from major porn shooting areas she wants travel costs.

I don’t know… I really enjoy her performances and would be disappointed to see her shooting less or gone all together.

But she does escort so maybe I will put her on my bucket list for next year 🙂

  7. She should self book. Don’t go for that you’re too expensive shit. Lalassa once told me “an agent told me I should do anal for $700.” That was 5 yrs ago. Agents are pimps for producers/companies. They can collude on the rates. Get smart & self book.
