Ketchikan, Alaska — Former gay porn star and exotic dancer Logan Cruise (a.k.a. Zack on Sean Cody, Bromo, and Rob Stonebridge on Randy Blue), legal name Jordan Joplin, appeared in Ketchikan Superior Court court this week, charged with the March 2017 murder of a local surgeon.
Initially accused of stealing two tons of valuables from the deceased Dr. Eric Garcia, Joplin was indicted in mid-July 2017 for the doctor’s murder.
Among the valuables were expensive watches, gold, and a coin collection worth as much as $500,000, according to a Ketchikan grand jury. Dr. Garcia’s collection of liquor alone was insured at $800,000. According to The Sword:
It took Joplin at least four trips, using the doctor’s truck, to load Garcia’s possessions in the containers, the charges say. According to the receipt, they were shipped the day after Garcia was last seen alive.
Joplin himself called Ketchikan police the day the doctor’s corpse was discovered to “initiate a welfare check on Dr. Eric Garcia, claiming he hadn’t heard from Dr. Garcia since visiting Ketchikan 10 days earlier.”
Joplin has pleaded ‘not guilty’ on all counts. His trial, which is expected to last for two to three weeks, had been scheduled for April 16, 2018. Judge Trevor Stephens has now moved the trial date back to November.
Joplin remains in custody on $200,000 bail.
A record
As Halaschak has reported, Joplin was well known to law enforcement officials long before he entered the porn world.
“Joplin has been involved in a number of crimes according to Washington state court records; these include pleading guilty to theft in 2005 and a felony conviction of destruction of property and making false claims in 2009. Joplin also was adjudicated guilty of attempted theft after trying to steal GPS units from a Walmart.”
Joplin’s gay porn appearances are as recent as 2016, reports The Sword.
Joplin’s work in the adult film industry as Logan Cruise (and other aliases) appears to overlap the time frame that Joplin was “financially involved with the doctor,” said KRBD.org.
