When it Comes to Porn Cryptocurrencies — Buyer Beware

I noticed the other day that Playboy decided to dip their toe in cryptocurrency game.

Specifically, they announced they just signed a deal with the newly formed “Vice Industry Token“.

What’s different about Vice token is that it uses blockchain technology mixed with user views. In other words, you’ll get paid to watch porn.

The are lots of different cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin is the most famous. In January of 2017, it was worth $920 each. By January of 2018, it was worth $14,000. Although the price has dropped to around $8,000, it’s still up dramatically considering just a year ago it was worth $920 each.

There are far too many cryptocurrencies to even try and name them all. Some do pretty good like Etherum or Litecoin. Others, not so much.

Vice Industry Token related isn’t the first adult industry cryptocurrency either.  When looking into other porn related cryptocurrencies, one name kept coming up – a guy by the name of Christopher Gu.

He’s not only part of one called Porn Token but also another one called Co Coin which seems to have already gone through at least one round of investment before falling apart.

oxxx Coin has two names attached to it, this Christopher Gu and none other than , who represents none other than Anastasia, who was recently outed playing a fake victim in the Leigh Raven and Riley Nixon sexual assault case.

And you know what they say, birds of a feather ..

So now you have the same guy involved in two different porn coins, Christopher Gu. I visited the Porn Token website and the first thing that caught my attention was how bad the design was. I know they say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but let’s be real … when it comes to investing actual money, would you trust a website with an amateur design?

That led me to his Twitter account.  He had an abnormally large number of followers. I mean 160,000 followers are quite a bit for who he is.

As you might have guessed, they are purchased. As you see by the report above, this is what happens when you buy a bunch of twitter followers, they slowly fall off – just like is happening with his account now.

It’s obvious his followers are fake, even without the follower count proof. He has no engagement with his tweets. If he had real followers then when he tweeted something more than 1 or two people would interact with the tweet by replying, liking it or retweeting it.

Most of his tweets have 0 engagement.

While porn stars get a higher than normal number of engagement, still a regular person with real followers still should draw some sort of reaction from their followers. This guy has nothing on tweet after tweet after tweet.

Let me show you something … here is a guy who is a radio DJ @JSS98Rock. His twitter account has only 14,400 followers. But they are 14,000 actual REAL followers. Look at what happens when e tweets out something.

You’ll see this guy’s tweet has 7 replies, 1 retweet, and 5 likes. That’s what you expect to see. And this is from a guy who has only 14k followers.

This is a tweet by the PornToken guy from a week ago. Not a single reply, retweet or like. With 160k followers, how is that possible?

It’s not. It’s because he doesn’t have 160k real followers. They are obviously fake.

Something else I noticed about his twitter is a large number of tweets about Vice Token. He tweets about it a lot.  He seems downright obsessed with the competition.

He doesn’t seem happy that someone else is developing an adult currency that competes with his projects.

While I meant for this article to be about porn companies using blockchain technology, it ended it being a warning, to avoid shady people because when there is any new product on the market, there will also be slimeballs out there, trying to make a quick buck.

The phrase “criminal opportunist” is brought up more than a few times when talking about this Christopher Gu guy. So before spending any of your money on an adult crypto, consider who is involved in the project first.

  1. I came across this guy on Reddit and actually bought a few tokens and bought a DVD from his site. What a complete and total scam. The DVD was horrible, old porn. I paid $14.99 for something DVDEmpire has for $99 cent download. Buyer Beware, this Porn Token operation by Christopher Gu is a scam, don’t get sucked in.

  2. Dude I looked at that guy’s website. What a joke. He can’t seriously think people are gonna take him serious.
